1. Face-to-face Training
Live, classroom based, facilitator-led training
Involves traditional classroom learning in which the facilitator delivers lessons using PowerPoint presentations and videos to explain the topic. Small group work, questions and answers and case studies are facilitated. Practical components are demonstrated and students mentored as they gain practical experience. Face-to-face facilitator-led training remains the most popular training method.
2. Online Virtual Live Classroom Training
Live, facilitator-led virtual training without the travel
Virtual Live Classroom workshops give you comprehensive training right from your own computer. As with our traditional physical classroom format, Virtual Live Classroom (VLC) training provides hands-on learning, interactivity and participant engagement, all with the flexibility of learning from wherever you choose. Practical components are demonstrated whereafter the student completes the training requirements by gaining the necessary practical experience in a workplace of their choice.
3. Web / eLearning
Self-paced virtual training
Learning utilising electronic technologies on any digital device to access educational curriculum outside of a traditional classroom.
Convenience is one of the main reasons people love eLearning. Students learn at their own pace in their own time around other work and family commitments. Again, practical components are demonstrated whereafter the student completes the training requirements by gaining the necessary practical experience in a workplace of their choice.
4. Blended Learning
Blended learning combines online educational materials with traditional place-based classroom methods. It requires the physical presence of both facilitator and student, with some elements of student control over time, place, path, or pace. For example, the student could choose to take the theory component of the training using the eLearning platform and then book a face-to-face practical training day separately. 5. Micro (Bite-Size) Learning
Self-Paced, Bite-Size Learning
Micro-learning is the process of learning through short, digestible, well-planned units. Another term for it is “single concept learning”. Bite-sized content enables participants to access small chunks of information instantly, anytime, and from anywhere. Education for Health Africa offers an extensive library of micro learning on Spirometry, Audiometry and Vision Screening and Occupational Health topics accessible through desktop or mobile devices. The content is self-paced, self-directed, with individual topic choices. For more information, email admin@educationforhealth.africa
