Follow up of workers at risk

Follow up of workers at risk

Questions to be asked when early reaction to noise is noted during medical surveillance:

Is the worker using the HPD?
Is the worker using it correctly?
Does the HPD offer enough attenuation?
Does the HPD fit properly?
Are there underlying medical reasons that makes the worker more prone to hearing loss?
Is there any social exposure to noise?

These workers should be monitored closely.

A note should be made in the workers file that the possible reaction to noise was investigated and what action was taken to prevent further reaction to noise.
